Intel Quad Core QX6700

Intel officially has announced the first quad core processor, Core 2 Duo Extreme Edition QX6700 and will be released in this November. This Extreme Edition will be followed by the mainstream version sometimes around Jan 2007.

QX6700 will be released just 60 days after Core 2 Duo, sooner than planned, first quarter of 2007, and they are ahead 6 months earlier than AMD quad core.

No surprise, actually, of why QX6700 can be made this fast. Basically, QX6700 is only the combination of two Core 2 Duo packed in one processor. They use the same approach as the release of Pentium D (two Pentium 4 core packed into one processor). As a comparison, quad core from AMD will based on 4 cores that stands alone.

The Frequency of QX6700 is only 2,66 GHz, but it can raise the speed until 70%, compares with Core 2 Extreme X6800 (2,93 GHz). Still, the better speed only work with application that support the multithread, like Adobe Premiere, 3DSMax or Windows MEdia Encoder. Still, it’s not impossible for another application like games will take advantage from this 4 cores scheme.

10 Tips for Saving on Car Insurance

If you own a car, you should read these tips. For readability’s sake, I haven’t blockquoted this, but it’s all Lynn. Note that every insurance company is different — not all of these ideas work everywhere. The first thing you can do to save money on auto insurance is to self-insure as much as you can afford. Do this in the following ways:

High deductibles. Everyone preaches this, yes, but it’s usually the easiest way to cut costs. Usually. (If your car is over ten years old, the savings may be minimal.)
Remove towing. Good maintenance and planning can save you money. Don’t run out of gas. Don’t lock your keys in your car. Make sure you have a spare and know how to change it. Sometimes your car will break down, but if your car is well-maintained, it won’t happen often. You pay $10 - $30 a year over the life of your policy and one tow costs $100. Note that in the event of an accident, towing is almost always covered under collision.
Remove car rental. Small economy cars cost about $20 - $25 per day to rent. Car rental is $20 - $40 per year. Play the odds. If you rent a car on vacation, your insurance will cover you while driving that car. Don’t pay for the extra coverage. The only things it offers are:
1. Zero deductibles. You go all year long with your deductibles, why change now? Also, if you pay for the car with a credit card, they may pay for any out of pocket in the even of an accident.
2. Downtime coverage. Downtime means that while the rental car you wrecked is in the shop being repaired, it can’t be rented out to other customers and they can ding you for the daily fee. This may be an issue if they can show that all other cars were rented out and they lost money because of you — Hawaii is notorious for charging this. But, again, it’s a risk you might decide to self insure rather than pay $21 a day for the insurance.

Aside from self-insuring, there are other steps you can take to save on car insurance.

Shop ahead. Before you buy your next car, check on insurance. Many people assume that SUVs are expensive and Neons are cheap. This is not necessarily true. Some companies will increase your liability based on the cost of damages your type of vehicle may inflict — big trucks cause big damage. However, they also rate the autos based on how likely they are to be damaged in an accident, how often they are stolen, and how badly driver/passengers are injured. That Neon (or Jetta or Honda) is going to be a lot more expensive than you think. Many companies will have websites that will give you lists of safe and lower priced cars. (Saturn is a low insurance car because it has dent-resistant doors.)
Think twice about after-market gizmos. If your vehicle is totaled or stolen, the insurance company will determine a fair market or actual cash value. They will look at your vehicle as a “whole package.” Even if you paid for $3,000 in after market items (wheels, spoilers, stereos, exhaust, etc.) they may only add $1,000 in value to your vehicle. It’s not dollar for dollar.
Have all of your insurance in one place. Often, the more types of policies you have, the more you save in discounts.
Find out if your insurance company offers any low-mileage breaks that you qualify for.
Can you take a safety-driving course? Some companies offer a discount for this.
Do NOT pay monthly. Your carrier will charge anywhere from $3 to $5 per month for this type of billing. Pay every six months if possible. If you must pay monthly, do an auto pay — the charges are less because they only send a bill if the amount changes.
This might not be a money saving tip, but insurance companies are state regulated. They must file their rates with the state and be able to justify any increases these are public record as are any types of complaints or fines. For example, if you’re in Oregon, you can check out your company and/or agent at http://insurance.oregon.gov/.
Most companies now use aspects of your credit to determine your rate. It is illegal for them to do this mid-term — as long as your policy is continuous without any lapses, they can’t use external info to change your rate. They can only use claim and ticket info. However, all newly added vehicles can be affected by credit. If you have good credit, this may be to your advantage. You are allowed to request that they re-check your score once per year. However, whatever the score is, you’re stuck with it. If it comes back bad and it raises your rate: too bad. But, if you have a policy that was written when your credit wasn’t so great, request that they check it again after things look better.

Finally, my information website had a method for earning money that did not require for me to spend all of my waking hours chasing one sale after another.

Some Background
Three rooms of my home were committed to storing merchandise that I was buying for resale. Over the years, I have been building links to my website so that people could find me. The articles and directory links have produced good traffic results for me on a consistent basis, since I started the process of building them.

Be The Next Advertising Success Story

I advised a friend of mine to make these kinds of changes on his own website. He already had great traffic, but he was not making as much money as I thought he should be making.

On my suggestion, he changed his Google ads from the bottom of his left sidebar to the main part of his pages. He told me that his CTR increased from 0.8% to 2.4%. I told him to change his ads from the 468×15 link unit to the 468×60 banner ad. He told me that his CTR increased from 2.4% to 4.7%. Then I told him to change his links from black to blue. The new agreement is the fourth wind turbine supply contract that GE and Noble have signed over the past three years, adding up to 877 GE 1.5-megawatt wind turbines with a total value of more than $1.5 billion.

GE’s 1.5-megawatt wind turbine is one of the most widely used machines in the wind industry, with more than 6,500 installed or committed for projects worldwide. The wind turbines covered under the latest agreement will be shipped during 2009, with most of the projects expected to enter commercial operation by the end of that year. They will support the Renewable Portfolio Standards for the states where they are located.

One dead in construction zone crash

One person was killed Tuesday morning in an accident on Highway 34, near the Morgan County line.
Troopers say a semi truck had stopped in a construction zone, when a pickup truck slammed into it.
The driver of the pickup died, according to Colorado State Patrol.
Troopers say it is unclear exactly what caused the accident, but state patrol is investigating.
The victim’s identity was not immediately released.

Uganda: Bujagali Dam Construction Starts in June

The long wait for the construction of the 250-megawatt power project at Bujagali is finally over. The government on Friday signed final documents instructing Bujagali Energy Ltd (BEL), the sponsors of the project and Salini Constructors, to start the implementation works “on or before June 1, 2007.”

“The relevant conditions have been fulfilled, hence the signing of the Limited Notice to Proceed (LNTP) agreements today,” Energy Minister Daudi Migereko, said shortly after the signing ceremony in Kampala.

“Subsequently, Uganda Electricity Transmission Company (UETCL) will disburse a loan of $90 million [about Shs150 billion], which will in turn be able to pay Salini to commence LNTP works.” He said the loan was taken from the government’s Energy Fund.

“The loan would be paid back when the disbursements from international lenders including the World Bank and the European Development Bank begin,” Mr Migereko said.

He said it was deemed necessary to extend the loan to BEL so as to accelerate the development of the $750 million project, that would otherwise have started in September/October.

The PS Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development Kabagambe-Kaliisa said: “All in all, at least nine agreements were signed to pave way for the implementation of the long awaited project.

The dam, to be constructed on River Nile, about 8km downstream of the existing Nalubale and Kiira power stations in Jinja, is widely expected to alleviate the power shortage.

The signatories were Mr Francis Okello for BEL, Mr Daniele Cascianelli for Salini. Deputy Secretary to the Treasury, Keith Muhakanizi for government while UETCL Managing Director Eriasi Kiyemba represented the transmission company. Mr Cascianelli said they would speed up the work.

City chasing loans for stormwater projects

The city of Port Angeles is pursuing two Washington State Public Works Trust Fund loans to assist in funding 19-million dollars in Combined Sewer Overflow projects. Applications for one loan in the amount of $885-thousand dollars, and another loan of up to $10-million dollars, have a deadline of May 7th, and the Council authorized the Mayor to apply for the loans. The smaller loan would cover remaining design costs not covered by a previously- obtained design loan. The other, a PTWF construction loan, would cover 10-million dollars of the additional construction cost of the five Phase One projects, Even if the loans are approved, another 3.8-million will be needed in 2008 to fully fund the construction of these five projects. While the interest rate on the PTWF loans is very low, some Council members expressed concern that the city may be getting too far in debt, and in the end, the ratepayers are always stuck with the bill.

In addition to corporate history, staffing, policies and procedures and technology, Fitch construction loan servicer reviews consider construction specific methodology. These areas include loan documentation and closing, risk/asset management, environmental risk management, disbursement administration and loan servicing operations.

Construction loan servicing is handled by the Construction Loan Administration (CLA) and Construction Management Group (CMG). CLA, with 143 employees, is regionally organized with offices in Jacksonville, FL, Winston-Salem, NC, Birmingham, AL and Philadelphia, and handles the day to day aspects of construction loan servicing and administration, including draw processing. CMG consists of nine employees in Charlotte, NC. $112 Million Construction/Permanent Loan Arranged by HFF Exclusively on Behalf of American Pharmacists Association

The Washington, D.C. office of HFF (Holliday Fenoglio Fowler, L.P.) has arranged a $112 million construction/permanent loan exclusively on behalf of American Pharmacists Association for the renovation of the historic Pope Building and the development of a new six-story office building totaling 244,422-square-feet in Washington, D.C.

HFF senior managing directors Bill Asbill and Bob Donhauser along with director Cary Abod placed a three-year construction and 10-year permanent loan with Hypo Real Estate Capital Corporation. The rate is 125 over LIBOR for half of the construction loan and the other half is a fixed-rate of 6.16%. The loan then converts to a permanent loan with a rate of 6.23% at the end of the three-year construction period. The American Pharmacists Association (APhA) is the first-established and largest professional association of pharmacists in the United States.

APhA has maintained its headquarters at 2215 Constitution Avenue, the site of the historic building designed by renowned architect John Russell Pope, since 1934. The Pope building will be renovated in conjunction with the development of the significantly expanded headquarters building at 2200 C Street. Upon completion in 2009, the new building will be fully occupied by the American Pharmacists Association and the U.S. Department of State.
